Fist of the Wolf - Red Talon Gifts

Experience cost for Gifts

Each Gift costs (2x the level of Gift) + The number of Gifts that you will have once this has been brought. The level of a Gift is displayed next to the Gifts Name.

You must have 4 gifts of a certain level (of either Breed, Auspice or Tribe) before you can buy Gifts of the next level. No more than one Gift may be purchased per session.

Beast Speech (1)

Cost: 1 Gnosis      Shot: None

Skill: None

The Garou may speak to animals, from pigeons in the park to beavers at their dam or fish in the sea. This does not change their basic reactions, a hungry tiger is still hungry and may still attack. Nature Spirits teaches this Gift.

Scent of Running Water (1)

Cost: None      Shot: None

Skill: None

The Garou can completely mask his scent, making himself virtually impossible to track. All those attempting to track him gain +4 on their difficulty. Those using Scent of Sight to find the Garou strike at -2. Fox Spirits teach this Gift.

Babble (1)

Cost: 1 Gnosis     Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou can make a target lose the ability to read, write or speak any language.  That person will only be able to grunt like an animal.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift against the targets AV, the effect lasts for a number of hours equal to the Outcome.  This Gift is taught by a Wyld Spirit.

Beastmind (2)

Cost: 1 Gnosis     Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou can reduce the mental faculties of a target to those of an animal for a short time.  The Garou physically attacks using his Gaia's Gift, laying his teeth at the throat of his victim.  The Outcome is the number of shots that the victim behaves like a beast, ignoring weapons and attacking with his teeth and claws.  This Gift is taught by an Avatar of Griffon

Sense of the Prey (2)

Cost: None      Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou, if he knows anything about his prey can track it down as quickly as he can walk. This unerring sense of direction operates anywhere and can be used to track spirits through the Umbra as well as find beings on the Earth. No roll is necessary, unless the target is actively hiding, in which case a Gaia's Gift roll is made with the targets Intrusion or Agility (whichever is higher) as Difficulty. This Gift is taught by a Wolf or Dog Spirit.

Elemental Favour (3)

Cost: None      Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

By cajoling a nearby Classic Elemental  (Air, Earth, Fire and Water), the Garou can get the Elemental to perform one "favour" for him.  This can include the manipulation, or even destruction of the Elemental's housing - thus a stone door might unlock itself, a camp fire might explode at the Garou's enemies, etc.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift with the areas Gauntlet as the Difficulty.  This Gift is taught by any Classic Elemental.

Trackless Waste (3)

Cost: 1 Gnosis     Shot: None

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou employing this Gift must have at least a rough familiarity with the terrain in a given area (have spent at least a week in the vicinity).  The Garou may completely disrupt others' perception of that terrain's landmark's etc.  Humans and the like will automatically become lost (compasses will not work and maps become misleading).  Even Garou may become lost.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift roll against the Gauntlet of the area, the Outcome being the area in miles affected, the Gift lasts for four hours.  The effects of this Gift are decided by the GM.  This Gift is taught by any Wilderness orientated Spirit

Avalanche (4)

Cost: 1 Gnosis     Shot: 7

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou must be in a mountainous or otherwise tectonically unstable area.  The Garou causes an avalanche, mudslide, etc. to engulf his foes.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift against the Gauntlet of the area.  The higher the Outcome the more dramatic the results, on a Way Awful Failure, the Garou is caught in the Avalanche.  This Gift is taught by an Earth Elemental.

Quicksand (4)

Cost: 1 Gnosis     Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou can turn the local ground into a sticky mass that can catch foes and prevent them from moving easily.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift against the Gauntlet of the area, each point of Outcome turns a 10 foot area into a sticky viscous substance.  Anyone, except the Garou, in this area has their Move stat halved , and no combat maneuvers that require movement can be executed (in Feng Shui that is most of them).  Additionally the shot costs for attacks are increased by one.  A Character can escape from the Quicksand by rolling his Martial Arts above the Garou's Gaia's Gift roll, and this is only possible if the Victim has similar powers to Prodigious and Abundant leap.  This Gift is taught by an Earth Elemental.

Rot Weavertech (4)

Cost: 1 Rage     Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou can cause selected manifestations of the Weaver to rot away.  This includes technological devices from guns to toasters (no Signature Weapons).  It also effects includes buildings made of stone metal or glass, but not rough-hewn wooden buildings (log cabins).  Generally any technological innovation since the Renaissance can be affected with this Gift.  Roll Gaia's Gift against a target number decided by the GM, dependent on the complexity of the device to be targeted.  This Gift is taught by certain Wyrm tainted Spirits and it's existence and origins are kept as a great secret amongst the Talons.

Curse of Dionysis (5)

Cost: 1 Gnosis     Shot: 3

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou may transform any Human or Garou into a normal wolf.  Garou will stay in this condition for the duration of the scene or battle; against humans the effect is permanent.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift against the AV of his target.  This Gift is taught by a Wolf Spirit.

Gaia's Vengeance (5)

Cost: 1 Gnosis + 1 Rage     Shot: 5

Skill: Gaia's Gift

The Garou can cause the very features of the land to animate and attack intruders: branches will lash out, rocks will roll and smash, vines will trip, water will suck victims under etc.  The Garou rolls his Gaia's Gift with the Gauntlet as Difficulty.  The effects are up to the GM.  This Gift is taught by an Avatar of Gaia herself.
